"I begin teaching full time before ATPE was founded. My team leader, Martha McCollum, introduced me to ATPE after the local unit was organized shortly after the state organization was created. That was 1981. I have served as a building contact, secretary, vice president and president of our local unit. As a building contact, I have recruited many of my fellow educators as ATPE members. I am turning over my building contact responsibilities this year as I retired after 35 years of teaching."
